Comment 1 Owen Taylor 2001-10-04 16:31:36 UTC
I've have a system here that reproduces this; (3ware escalade 6200)
works with 7.1, cannot install 7.2 on it.

The changes between 7.1 and 7.2 in the 3w-xxxx driver seem fairly
small so it shouldn't be that hard to try backing them out and
seeing if that fixes it. (Looks like there is only one change in how
it talks to the card really - the addition of code to deal differently
with RAID5 devices... since I'm trying to use this in a RAID1
configuration.... but of course, it could be something completely
unrelated in how the card is accessed.)

should have looked closer at my query before adding comments.
