That is actually on purpose :)
We had some customers that want to leave their browser open for very long periods of time on pages that auto-refresh and they never wanted the session to expire. This was how they can do that.
I think that if the user defines a session timeout, the 'Page refresh period' may be disabled. This bug was previously known as http://jira.rhq-project.org/browse/RHQ-2082 Hi, In RHQ 4.4 there is no setting for session timeout per user or Page refresh period. We need this because we put RHQ dashboard on wall screens and we don't want to be logged out.
