Well, it's just an added dep, and a rebuild, I'll try to keep cvs modifications to a minimum and take care of bodhi updates. Ah, if it only were that simple. Seeing build failures. working on it... Looks like it's simply incompatible with sip-4.9.x atm, keeping open for now. We'll likely need to ping upstream for help/guidance here. Until this is fixed, qgis-python is non-functional. How essential is this subpackage? Could we consider dropping support for it, at least temporarily until upstream help fix it? How essential is this > subpackage? Could we consider dropping support for it, at least temporarily > until upstream help fix it? I'd say its essential. All of the truely useful plugins for QGIS, including the plugin manager, depend on python support. I've been really missing quite a few of them. I'm able to do what I need to for now but it does take much, much longer. Ok, let me put it this way, which is worse. qgis-python always crashing or qgis-python being not present? Well, hopefully it won't come to that... I'm sorry I've been fairly swamped, would you be wiling/able to help contact upstream to find out about why builds fail against sip-4.9.x ? Created attachment 380083 [details] Patch to allow qgis to build with sip 4.9 The fix for QGIS 1.3.x seems to work for 1.0.2 as well. I've been able to build the qgis packages for F12 using the attached patch and python plugins seem to working. http://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/ticket/1959 Thanks! Looks like we have a winner, builds ongoing, I'll take care of issuing updates. qgis-1.0.2-4.fc11 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 11. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/qgis-1.0.2-4.fc11 qgis-1.0.2-4.fc12 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 12. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/qgis-1.0.2-4.fc12 qgis-1.0.2-4.fc11 has been pushed to the Fedora 11 testing repository.
