Oh, never mind, it's HPLIP's weird 'duplex' page sizes. Re-opening as I *can* reproduce this problem using gedit (as pointed out in bug #540995 comment #2). 1.System->Administration->Printing 2.Add a new printer using the supplied PPD. 3.Double-click on new queue and switch to the Printer Options tab 4.Set the Page Size to one containing 'AutoDuplex' (e.g. A4 AutoDuplex) 5.Applications->Accessories->gedit Text Editor 6.File->Print... 7.Select the queue. 8.Click on Page Setup tab 9.Try to set Two-sided option to 'Long Edge (Standard)'. Actual results: Only option is 'One Sided'. Expected results: One Sided Long Edge (Standard) Short Edge (Flip) Additional information: Does work correctly from evince and firefox. I am also having this problem with both evince and gedit. I have a HP Officejet Pro L7780 with duplex, with 2 queues, one with duplex on and the other with duplex off. No matter which one I select, if I go into page options in the printer dialog, I only have one side available in the two sided option. All other apps are fine. I had even changed the paper size to the autoduplex option as stated in comment #2. If I use ePDF Viewer it'll print the 2nd side but it uses different spacing and font sizes messing up the document. So fixing the duplex option would be nice as I really don't want to use Adobe. [scott@ncc1701 ~]$ rpm -qa evince gedit evince-2.28.1-5.fc12.x86_64 gedit-2.28.0-1.fc12.x86_64 [scott@ncc1701 ~]$ uname -r 2.6.31.9-174.fc12.x86_64 In trying to resolve this, I wound up reinstalling Fedora 12 as a fresh install after saving what I needed from the exisitng system. I installed the printer through system-config-printer instead of hp-setup using hpijs/foomatic for the driver instead of the hplip. All seems to be working for now. However, I have not been able to figure out how to install the FAX function yet or read memory cards in the built in card reader. Scanning seems to also work. This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '12'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
