Hardware information: Motherboard : Intel D946GZIS Monitor: LG Flatron L1730S Fixed in kernel-2.6.31.6-147.fc12 I have checked rawhide and could find only kernel-2.6.32-0.51.rc7.git2.fc13. How long will it take to appear in rawhide? Hi Manilal, The code is committed here : http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/kernel/F-12/kernel.spec?view=log. As you can see there is already a kernel-2.6.31.6-148.fc12 being prepared. You can follow the activity of the 'kernel' package here : https://admin.fedoraproject.org/community/?package=kernel#package_maintenance When you will see a version in testing you will be able to test using : yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update 'kernel*'. If you feel like you know what you are doing you can even test directly from the build system (koji) : http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 where the kernel package are already available... Installed kernel-2.6.31.6-162.fc12.x86_64 and now the default resolution is 1024x768 without nomodest option. But why is that higher resolution(above 1024x768) is still impossible? In F11, the same hardware supported 1280x1024. Kernel updated to 2.6.31.6-166.fc12.x86_64 and the default resolution switched to 800x600. It seems a failure in regression test. Please re-open this bug. Sorry, the kernel version is wrong in comment #6. The correct version is kernel-2.6.31.9-174.fc12.x86_64 The kernel is updated 2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.x86_64, but can't get 1024x768 without "nomodeset". My bug #564032 may be a dupe of this? Please provide much more information. The dmesg and xrandr output from the failed boot would be a good start. It seems the issue was with the LCD Monitor(LG L1730S). Recently I replaced the old one with a new monitor(LG L1752S) and the issue was solved. Since I don't have the old monitor I may not be able to provide the log and debug information. |
