I'm re-assigning this to 'firstboot' as it is this package which is running when you encounter your problems.

After finishing firstboot the first time could you please run "firstboot" as root from the Terminal and see if get the errors there as well. If it works by running firstboot, My guess is somethings up with the Live CD and your hardware,

Also, What Desktop Environment are you using?

This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life.

Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is 
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further 
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of 
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
