Description Andrea 2009-11-25 19:25:24 UTC
Description of problem:

Thunderbird shows email mixing fields from different emails (like from, to, body, from the last few emails).
It is hard to explain, here is a snapshot

http://xoomer.virgilio.it/enodetti/exchange/thunderbird.png

As you can see the highlighted mail does not show the same "from" as the list, but actually the "from" coming from the 6th mail.
Body is partially correct (first 2 lines), but then it contains stuff from older mails.

This account uses gmail with IMAP protocol

If I go online I get the correct mail displayed.

I've rebuilt the index and everything works now.
There must be something corrupting the local storage.

Corrupted profiles are very hard to debug (especially when after Reindexing you have destroyed all information about the corruption; nothing against you, of course, you need first working email client).

Closing as CANTFIX, and please feel free to reopen if you find some means how I could reproduce this bug on my computer.

Thank you for filing the bug

I have a backup taken a few days ago and I am pretty sure the problem had already presented.
Would that be useful for you?

Comment 5 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-27 17:57:46 UTC
Probably not, if you want you can file a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org. Analyzing corrupted profile is very unhappy work, usually doesn't lead to much good results, and with very high level of probability it is not a bug in anything Fedora did.
