Just a quick update. First off, booting "expert noprobe" lets me manually
choose the driver and all is fine. But while poking around looking for what
other folks did to get additional devices detected in the installer, I found out
how to change the installer to detect the card without manual intervention, and
I figured I'd include it here in case anyone does a search.
I uncompressed the netstg1.img file, loop mounted it, edited the
modules/pcitable file, added the PCI ID for the 3ware 7800 card like so:
0x13c1 0x1001 "3w-xxxx" "3ware Inc|3ware 7000-series RAID Controller"
Then I compressed the netstg1.img file, put it back in the proper directory on
the web-install server, and booted from the netboot floppy. The card is now
detected fine. (Note that I didn't have to change the netboot floppy at all.)
I guess the Red Hat folks can resolve this bug since I'm going fine now, but it
would be great if the final release of 7.2 recognized the card automatically.
Will be fixed in kudzu-0.99.26-1 when it's built. |
