the patch for the mc wrapper none

Description Daniel Novotny 2009-12-02 12:20:31 UTC
Created attachment 375418 [details]
the patch for the mc wrapper

Description of problem:

when I have a lot of roxterm tabs open and a lot of mc instances inside and do ctrl+o in some of them, I forget whether I am inside mc or not in this specific session and it would be good if I could see it just with a quick glance

my little patch uses the mc wrapper to change the prompt slightly, so when you are inside, you know it just by looking at your terminal window

steps to reproduce:
1. open a lot of terminal tabs
2. open a mc in some of them
3. do ctrl+o in some of them
4. work hard and forgot which ones are mc and which not
5. be confused

Additional info:
with the patch, the prompt has "mc" in front of it so it's quickly distinguishable from a bare shell prompt

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 13 development cycle.
Changing version to '13'.

There is a message in the terminal window that alerts you that you are running mc (even in subshell). So it is not suitable to yet add something to the subshell commandline IMO.
