Very weird, why do a print statement generate a IOError: [Errno 27] File too large
.
Can you regenerate the error ?

I am getting the same error everytime that I try to use yumex to update packages.

My backtrace is different but the last two frames in __init__.py are the same. 

The following is what is stored in my /var/log/abrt-logger file after attempting to file a bug, which seems to fail because this bug, 544601, is already filed.

yumex -d from a console and attach the output

Yumex ran with Debug option on.

Ran the command "yumex -d > yumex -d > yumex2-debug.txt 2>&1".  The attached file is the debug output from "yumex -d".  The bad news is that the session worked fine.  It did not crash.

yum log from system that ran "yumex -d".

The attached file is all the history of yum since Fedora 12 was installed on the machine that generated the "yumex -d" output.

Unfortunately, when I ran "yumex -d", it was successful.  Before running "yumex -d", I also tried running "yumex" and it also was successful up to the point where I cancelled out.  "yumex" ran up to the point were it wanted verification to start downloading packages.  "yumex -d" ran to completion.

I am not sure what changed on my system that would allow yumex to start running successfully after several days of it crashing every time.  The yum log is including in case some package updated in the last few days fixed the problem.

The Update Applet 2.28.3 was run between yumex crashing and yumex working.  If the update applet does not use yum and /var/log/yum.log, let me know where it does log and that file can be attached to this bug.

Attempting to download the same set of updates, "yumex" crashed but "yumex -d" was successful.  The problem appears to be in the difference of non-debug and debug.

I think that yumex echo all output from the gui output window to the stdout, but when you are running yumex from the menu vs. runnning in a terminal, you his some kind of limit.
I have made a change upstream to no write to stdout if it is not a tty, i might help in this case
