Description jeff 2009-12-10 17:41:09 UTC
Summary:

SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/dovecot "write" access on
/var/log/dovecot/dovecot.log.

Detailed Description:

[SELinux is in permissive mode. This access was not denied.]

SELinux denied access requested by dovecot. It is not expected that this access
is required by dovecot and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is
also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is
causing it to require additional access.

Allowing Access:

You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ
(http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug
report.

audit2allow suggests:

#============= dovecot_t ==============
allow dovecot_t var_log_t:file write;

Comment 1 Daniel Walsh 2009-12-10 18:09:01 UTC
chcon -R -t dovecot_var_log_t /var/log/dovecot

Will fix it,

This labeling will be made default.
