Please continue with Audacity 1.3.10-beta from updates-testing to see whether you can reproduce this problem.

Mixer::MixVariableRates() has been revised in 1.3.10-beta.

audacity-1.3.10-0.3.beta.fc12 has been pushed to the Fedora 12 testing repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
