Description W.C. Epperson 2009-12-31 19:40:21 UTC
Description of problem:

Appears essentially similar to the closed bug 523016.

When doing search in squirrelmail (dovecot backend)

ERROR: Bad or malformed request.
Query: FETCH (FLAGS UID RFC822.SIZE INTERNALDATE BODY.PEEK[HEADER.FIELDS (Date To Cc From Subject X-Priority Importance Priority Content-Type)])
Server responded: Error in IMAP command UID FETCH: Invalid arguments.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

squirrelmail-1.4.20-0.rc2.20090917.fc12.noarch
dovecot-1.2.8-2.fc12.i686
sendmail-8.14.3-8.fc12.i686
httpd-2.2.14-1.fc12.i686

Client: firefox-3.5.6-1.fc12.x86_64

How reproducible:

Consistently.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hit search button in squirrelmail web interface
2. Type a search term with a space in it
3.

Actual results:

Error shown above. Quoting string makes no difference.

Expected results:

A list of messages from the searched folder containing the search term in the specified component (subject, body, etc).

Additional info:

I'm not able to identify when squirrelmail-1.4.20-0.rc2.20090917.fc12.noarch was installed, but I believe this error just began occurring and cannot see a likely culprit in recent yum updates (no updates to any of listed server components, nor php, in yum.log beginning 12/26).

Comment 1 Michal Hlavinka 2010-01-04 14:17:39 UTC
this bug is known upstream and was recently fixed:
> r13877 Fix (multi-word) search for real this time

I'll prepare new packages containing this fix

thanks for reporting this
