Description Retlaw Dlawso 2010-01-03 16:20:11 UTC
Summary:

SELinux is preventing /bin/cat "read" access on /var/run/syslogd.pid.

Detailed Description:

[SELinux is in permissive mode. This access was not denied.]

SELinux denied access requested by cat. It is not expected that this access is
required by cat and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is also
possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is
causing it to require additional access.

Allowing Access:

You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ
(http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug
report.

Comment 1 Daniel Walsh 2010-01-04 15:26:33 UTC
Why is /var/run/syslogd.pid a symbolic link? This looks like a local customization.

Although I see nothing with allowing this.

You can add these rules for now using

# grep avc /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
# semodule -i mypol.pp
