Description Ray Todd Stevens 2010-01-04 21:16:53 UTC
Every time I upgrade I get more machines which default to "generic monitor" and then default to a 800x400, maximum resolution. Have not been able to get a fix with the anaconda people, which would not be a problem, BUT I also have not been able to get system-config-display in any of its versions to work either.

This problem is not just with the systems with the defaulting problem but with all systems here. I have no systems for which this works. However the defaulted ones are the ones for which this is the most problematic.

I can change to my monitor. It says that it has changed to my monitor. I logout and even reboot and it comes back and says that the monitor is the proper monitor. But I still can't get the resolution to anything but 800x600.

These are many different systems with many different video card and monitor setups.

Cool story.

Please attach an X log from the failure case, at a minumum.
