Description Beartooth 2010-01-17 19:33:12 UTC
Description of problem:
   F12 fails with KVM switches

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.boot multiple machines behind a KVM switch
2.switch around a few times
3.

Actual results:
one or more machines stop seeing keyboard & mouse, and have to be reset

Expected results:
   routine switching

Additional info:
I have found this with four PCs, first behind an IOgear and now behind a Trendnet -- both 4-port USB KVM switches.

Likely related to Bug 540584 among others

An affected machine may keep the display it had last; or go dark; or launch its screensaver.

Trying to escape with the Scroll Lock key, as advised on Novalug on 1/17/10, did not help.

An affected machine can usually be ssh'd into from the LAN -- but use another machine *not* behind the switch, or the bug merely bites again.

This is most likely no monsoon bug. Assigning this to xorg-x11 in hope that this is right.

Comment 2 Terry Kovacs 2010-01-19 17:30:46 UTC
I am seeing the same issue.
Killing the Xorg process (via an ssh session) restores the kbd/mouse/display operation but at the expense of killing off the session processes.
