This is apparently due to some sort of packaging error; for some reason me-tv's gconf schema isn't being loaded or initialized properly. I'm not sure why. This page has a bit more info:

https://answers.launchpad.net/me-tv/+question/99278

You can temporarily work around this problem by doing this:

gconftool-2 -t string -s /apps/me-tv/engine_type xine

Comment 2 Solomon Peachy 2010-02-11 20:21:31 UTC
it appears that the %pre/%post/%preun scripts aren't calling gconftool-2 to load up the schema file.

Updated specfile with fixed gconf pre/postinstall scripts

I've attached an updated specfile that fixes this problem through the use of proper %pre, %post, and %preun scriptlets.

I've rebuilt this on fc12-i686 and it seems to work okay for me. I can supply a set of i686 and x86_64 binaries if desired, but I'd prefer to see an official build/update based on this specfile filter down the update chain...

OK guys.

I will correct this.

Thanks for resolving, Solomon ;)
