Description of problem:
While fresh installed fedora 12, sound is not working with following hardware 
(lspci |grep Audio)

only headphone working, but speaker does not, while Windows it is working

tried with wiki page [1] to troubleshoot, but not working

How reproducible:
tried once with installation, still not working with updates

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install fedora 12 (using kde desktop)
2. play sound
3. try to play sound with headphone, while change it in 
  
Actual results:
headphone working, but speaker not

Expected results:
speaker should work

Did you go to gnome-volume-control's "output" tab and tried to select a different connector in the drop-down find there?

Output Tab
1) Internal Audio - after selection : Headphone working
2) R700 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4000.. - After selection: No output on Speaker or Headphone

Hmm, normally there should be an additional drop-down there that shows available output ports. If there isn't for you this could mean two things: the kernel driver does not expose the necessary controls/mislabels them -- or PA currently does not pick them up properly. To figure out the latter please run "alsamixer -c0" in a terminal and see if you can find a control that makes the speakers work. If so, please add the exact name here and we can cover it. If not we'll have to reassign this to ALSA.

That's your HDMI device. Unless you have HDMI equipment this will yield no output.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13.  It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained.  At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 
'version' of '13'.

plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' 
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is 
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further 
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
