Description Xixi 2010-02-19 23:59:34 UTC
Description of problem:
The URL at which the kickstart media are accessible changed as of Satellite 5.3. If a customer hosts a kickstart file on the Satellite (not managed in kickstart profiles, but just the kickstart file), then the install media will not be found when the kickstart file is used after upgrading to Satellite 5.3. For example:

This works in Satellite pre-5.3, but not in 5.3.
url --url http://<satellitefqdn>/kickstart/dist/ks-rhel-i386-client-5-u4/

To get it to work in 5.3, it must be changed to:
url --url http://<satellitefqdn>/ks/dist/ks-rhel-i386-client-5-u4/

Customer who encountered this issue would like this officially documented. Satellite release notes seems the best place for it, other official Satellite documentation is fine too.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite 5.3.0

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See above.

Actual results:
No documentation.

Expected results:
Documentation.
