Log syntax errors in key,value pairs none

Description joshua 2010-03-15 19:18:07 UTC
Description of problem:

This line, even after a"udevcontrol log_priority=debug", produces no error messages in /var/log/messages:

KERNEL=="sda7", OWNER='student", GROUP="student", MODE="0600"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

udev-095-14.21.el5

Shouldn't udev complain when finding an obvious syntax error?
