Description Michel Lind 2010-03-25 16:14:22 UTC
Description of problem:
We have a WLAN with the following setup:
WPA/WPA2 Enterprise
Tunneled TLS
MSCHAPv2

that works fine with Fedora 13 up to the Beta TC1, but somehow a recent update between the version in the beta TC1 DVD (0.8.0-0.4.git20100211.fc13) and the
current version causes problems connecting; it would fail immediately and the applet would wipe the password, assuming it to be incorrect.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.8.0-3.git20100323.fc13

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to connect from nm-applet

Actual results:
nm-applet immediately return to the dialog box asking for connection details, with the password blanked

Expected results:
Connects as before.

Additional info:
The following suspicious message in /var/log/messages that I've not seen before:

ath9k: Two wiphys trying to scan at the same time

I may be hitting the same thing in F12. I'm also using WPA2/TTLS/MSCHAPv2.

0.8.0-4.git20100325.fc12 keeps asking the password and never quits; apparently it won't even try with it. The new "Ask for this password every time" option is strange as it greys out the password and doesn't give you a chance to type it. With that enabled or disabled, login doesn't work.

Downgrading to 0.7.998-2.git20100106.fc12 works. After upgrading back to 0.8.0-4.git20100325.fc12 it worked for me *once*, then the password was represented as dots and greyed out. After logging out, it ceased to work.

It also seems that the new NetworkManager does not kick off a password dialog if you log in using a fingerprint. But password login doesn't work either.
