Description Tommy He 2010-04-16 09:58:05 UTC
Description of problem:

Command livecd-iso-to-disk --reset-mbr --format <ISO_NAME> <USB_DRIVE_NAME> complains about unable to set the boot flag on partition though the partition was shown as bootable (in my locale zh_CN.utf8, it showed as 启动 )in parted.

However, setting LANG to en_US.utf8 makes the process well.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
livecd-tools-031-1.fc12.1.i686
in Fedora 13 repo (why it's marked as fc12 ?)

How reproducible:
Download the LiveCD and tried to create it in F13 on locale other than English

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set LANG other than English (en_US.utf8), e.g. zh_CN.utf8
2. Install livecd-tools from repo
3. Create the LiveUSB with --format option

Actual results:
Unable to proceed due to the boot flag problem.

Expected results:
Being able to create LiveUSB with LANG other than English.

Additional info:

I know it's a trivial problem for English speaking users. But certainly not quite friendly for the users who aren't.

I think there is an upstream fix for this and that you will be able to use livecd-tools 034 to do this. When it becomes availabe, please retest this.
Thanks.
