Description Christopher M. Sawi 2010-04-23 23:56:50 UTC
Summary:

SELinux is preventing /bin/login "write" access on /var/log.

Detailed Description:

SELinux denied access requested by login. It is not expected that this access is
required by login and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is also
possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is
causing it to require additional access.

Allowing Access:

You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ
(http://docs.fedoraproject.org/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug
report.

audit2allow suggests:

#============= local_login_t ==============
#!!!! The source type 'local_login_t' can write to a 'dir' of the following types:
# pam_var_console_t, pcscd_var_run_t, local_login_tmp_t, var_lock_t, tmp_t, var_t, var_auth_t, auth_cache_t, pam_var_run_t

allow local_login_t var_log_t:dir write;

Could you try to execute as root

semanage permissive -a local_login_t

and then login via the console. Other avc's should be generated.
