Description Need Real Name 2002-01-22 08:26:12 UTC
Description of Problem:
One of the last screens during the installation of "Red Hat Linux 7.1 for
Itanium Systems" is the Custom Configuration. (It is described on page 51f and
Figure 4-19 of the Manual "The Official Red Hat Linux Itanium Installation
Guide", manual's identifier rhl-ig-itanium(EN)-7.1-Print-RHI (2001-04-20T16:12-
0400.)
If I do not select anything but use the default values, the installation
proceeds correctly.
But if I try to set the Color Depth, the installation is aborted.

This error occurred already in the Wolverine version, but I did not report it.
I did not test what would happen if I try to select (in the same screen) the
Screen Resolution. If it behaves like Wolverine, selecting the Screen
Resolution would also abort the installation.

The error does not have highest priority, because each person installing Red
Hat Linux on Itanium, is only affected once. Then he/she knows what to avoid.

Please attach any error messages you see when the failure occurs. Also - what
video hardware does your system have?

Comment 2 Need Real Name 2002-01-28 13:52:11 UTC
The error occurred with a Nvidia Quadro2.
It does not occur with a Matrox Millennium G450.

Comment 3 Jeremy Katz 2003-04-02 21:48:48 UTC
I haven't seen this with any of our Itanium hardware with the Advanced Server
for IPF releases.
