If you try to start the installation directly in text mode, does the question pop up? According to the source, if X fails and anaconda is in kickstart (eg. unattended) mode, then we do not show the question. On the boot prompt, I typed: "linux text". I did not get any warning. I arrived on the window where I can check the media. Please attach logs from the installation to this bugzilla. You can find it in /tmp during the install or in /root/ and /var/log/ after the install. Created attachment 412452 [details]

I see vnc in the list of options passed to anaconda, this doesn't look as a text install log... also media check should be text mode dialog. The vnc question happens after you select inital keyboard, language and install source. Yes, of course I completely forgot, I never got any log because I never finished the installation in text mode. How can I get the log without writting anything on the disk? I don't want to break the one already installed. I have some log from virtualbox. No message either. See below. install syslog (text mode)
I just cannot reproduce it on the released F13, I will describe what I used: 1/ Boot standard install of F13 with "text" argument added to the boot prompt and repo=http://download.englab.brq.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/13/Fedora/x86_64/os argument (triggering netinstall) eg (we use PXE): /images/Fedora-13_http-x86_64/vmlinuz initrd=/images/Fedora-13_http-x86_64/initrd.img ksdevice=bootif kssendmac repo=http://download.englab.brq.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/13/Fedora/x86_64/os 2/ Choose language (en_US) 3/ Choose keyboard (en) 4/ Disable IPv6 support Network Manager configures network and anaconda downloads install.img 5/ See the screenshot below.. Are you using any kind of kickstart file? How much memory does your machine have? And are you sure that you have correct version? Because our F13 install images use anaconda 13.42 whereas your log says you have 13.37.2. Created attachment 440367 [details]
Screenshot of Use VNC question
It's the first time I am seeing this screenshot. I was not using any kickstart file and the computer had 2GB of memory at that time. I have no idea about the version of fedora I used back then but I can try on the new fedora 14 if the warning still show up. This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '13'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
