You can't rename icons that are really .desktop files. (I don't know what you mean by .xml files, Red Hat nautilus never creates those.) Someone recently submitted a patch to allow this rename, it will appear when we upgrade to GNOME 2, probably release after next. I'm not planning to fix this on the Red Hat level however. |
