Description Paul Howarth 2010-05-05 12:36:18 UTC
The x86_32 build already includes the advansys driver but lots of users are gradually updating to 64-bit machines and want to use the 64-bit OS.

I have anecdotal evidence from Martin Tee (who I will Cc: on this ticket) that the driver works on x86_64, at least with a scanner.

However, I note that in Bug #141004 it was mentioned that "this is safe to enable on x86 even though its broken on other architectures" (the driver hasn't been converted to use the "new" DMA-mapping code); does x86 include x86_64?

Sure, why not? Everyone else does. Will be enabled in 2.6.38-rc3-git3
