Description Francesco Librizzi 2010-05-14 09:54:49 UTC
Description of problem:
After the basic installation of RHEL 6.0 Beta (santiago) the network interface is disabled.
In the basic installation steps it does not ask for any ethernet configuration.
After the installation the "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0" file contains:

# Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5754 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
DEVICE=eth0
HWADDR=00:0A:E4:XX:XX:XX
ONBOOT=no

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot up the machine
2. run ip l show up

Actual results:
- On basic installation it does not ask for any ethernet information.
- ethernet interface is disabled on boot

Expected results:
etherner interface is active

Additional info:
editing the ifcfg-eth0 file with ONBOOT=yes then it works

There is/will be a 'Configure Network' button in later anaconda builds for your use.

Comment 5 Chris Lumens 2010-05-14 14:38:45 UTC
This is fixed in the next build of anaconda.
