Description Kambiz Aghaiepour 2002-02-06 20:56:36 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.78 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.4.9-21 i686)

Description of problem:
The latest errata upgrade fails with:
1:kdebase error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/share/comfig/kdm:
cpio rename failed - Is a directory

I was able to work around it by:

# cd /usr/share/config/
# mv kdm kdm-
# rpm -Uvh kdebase*rpm

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. The system was running roswell.
2. It was upgraded using standard upgrade procedure
3. Registered in RHN
4. up2date -d -f -u
5. cd /var/spool/up2date
6. rpm -Uvh *.rpm

Everything upgraded except foomatic and kdebase, both with the above cpio error.
