We have installed Redhat 6.1 on two machines and lpr now
fails on both of them. The problems range from reporting
negative file sizes in lpq, jobs getting stuck in the queue
and complaints about lpd not running when it clearly is. I
have tried the new 0.42-1 version and the 0.35 version and
neither of these help.

So you're saying that neither the 0.42-1, nor the 6.1 lpr, nor
the 6.0 lpr now work for you?

Ok, the 0.35 version wasn't Redhat 6.0, but another build. I got the
0.35-1 from Rh6.0 and the problem now seems to have disappeared on
both machines.

Can you try the lpr-0.42-2 RPMs at people.redhat.com/notting/lpr
and see if they improve the situation at all?

No, 0.42-2 has the same problem, the job reaches the remote queue but
never prints.

What does the control & data file look like in the remote queue?

Also, could you try the 0.42-2debugging and confirm that they
fail as well?

I have also noticed this behavior using RedHat 6.0.

This should be fixed with the 0.43-2 errata release. If not,
please re-open.
