xorg.log

Description of problem: Text and buttons are not visible

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.33.4-95.fc13.i686
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-6.20100423git13c1043.fc13.i686

How reproducible: simply start F13

Actual results: no menus and buttons visible, see the screenshots and you know what i mean

Expected results: menus and text should be displayed

Additional info: This happens only when i directly start F13 with the nouveau driver (coldboot). If i first start F12 with the nvidia binary driver restart my machine and start then F13 the menus and buttons are visible and everything is fine.
The screenshots were made while i used a F13 beta. But the problem still persists in F13.

One more suggestion. Could you please try whether GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS environmental variable makes a difference. So, if you run

gedit

(confirming that gedit is broken)

and then run

GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1 gedit

and suddenly it works, let us know. It might theoretically be gtk bug after all.

Thank you

Comment 7 Tobias Jochmann 2010-06-01 18:48:07 UTC
I tried it.

GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1 gedit

looks exactly the same as

gedit

I found out that i don´t have this problem when is set nouveau.noaccel=1 on kernel command line

Comment 9 Tobias Jochmann 2010-09-05 15:14:06 UTC
This issue still exists with kernel 2.6.34.6-47.fc13.i686 and xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-8.20100423git13c1043.fc13.i686

Comment 10 Bug Zapper 2011-06-02 13:23:05 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '13'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 11 Bug Zapper 2011-06-27 16:43:51 UTC
Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
