Note that I signaled the bug as 'Kernel' as it is outputted by the kernel in the /var/log/messages, and that I didn't find a better place to put this. I'm seeing the same thing on x86; fedora 13. usb 4-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6 usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7 usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8 usb 4-1: device not accepting address 8, error -71 usb 4-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 9 usb 4-1: device not accepting address 9, error -71 hub 4-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 10 usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 11 usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 usb 4-2: device not accepting address 12, error -71 usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 13 usb 4-2: device not accepting address 13, error -71 hub 4-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 Actually, that looks like a different error, looks like a read error. Might be related, not sure Whatever the cause, yesterday's 'yum update' ( with a kernel and udevmux update ) appears to have resolved the issue. resolved it FOR ME. Can't speak to the original submitter's issue. I just updated completely, problem still occurs. On my system `uname -a` gives "Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.35.11-83.fc14.i686 #1 SMP Mon Feb 7 07:04:18 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux" `lsusb` shows "Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0a5c:2101 Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth Controller Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 005: ID 12d1:1412 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 002: ID 064e:a103 Suyin Corp. Acer/HP Integrated Webcam [CN0314] Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub" and `dmesg|grep "unable to enumerate USB"|cut -d ']' -f2|sort|uniq` shows hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 hub 4-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 If I open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+Fn) then above 2 messages are repeated indefinitely. My Blue-tooth, WIFI and UBS modem works fine but a strange problem with internal DVD writer happens when ever I insert media, The drive is removed and undetected. So I can't access my DVD drive. Any help??? This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '13'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
