Description of problem:
I'm putting in a recommendation for http://csl.cse.ucsc.edu/smart.shtml

	UCSC S.M.A.R.T. Suite for Linux

Has both command line interface to S.M.A.R.T. disk information, as well as a
daemon
that will periodically scan disks for PFA (Predictive Failure Analysis) a.k.a.
S.M.A.R.T.
alerts.
