I installed RHEL 6.0 20100603.1 over http instead of from the DVD and that worked fine, so apparently it's only the repos on the DVD ISO that are corrupt. (I had to use an updates.img from bug 602351 comment 8 to fix another bug with partitioning.) Created attachment 422672 [details]

Please try this updates.img to see if it resolves your problem.
The updates.img from comment 2 fixed the problem! It's installing from the DVD now. I'm trying to install from it and it's failed twice with the error: Error Unable to read group information from repositories. This is a problem with the generation of your install tree. [ Exit installer] [ Retry ] Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHEL 6.0 20100603.1 Workstation x86_64 anaconda 13.21.50 How reproducible: every time (?) Steps to Reproduce: 1. burn RHEL6.0-20100603.1-Workstation-x86_64-DVD1.iso to DVD 2. boot from DVD and start install Actual results: anaconda stops with above error when it tries to read packages from DVD Expected results: successful installation of RHEL 6.0 Additional info:
