Description Karel Srot 2010-06-14 11:20:27 UTC
Description of problem:

After reading Chapter 2. Securing Your Network I have following two proposals:

1. Several topics mention files in /lib directory. Somewhere in the beginning of the book (1. Document Conventions???) there should be a statement saying that on 64-bit systems some files mentioned in the text may be located in /lib64 instead on /lib.

2. 2.1.4.3.1. The su Command
"5. Open the PAM configuration file for su (/etc/pam.d/su)..."
should not be included in the ordered list because it is confusing. According to the precedent text items in the list describe steps for the GUI alternative to
"usermod -G wheel <username>". Therefore the /etc/pam.d/su step (5th) should be excluded from the list since it is not related to the User Manager. Instead, "/etc/pam.d/su" part should be mentioned separately outside (after) the list.
