Description Peter Hutterer 2010-06-16 03:12:57 UTC
Description of problem:
the synaptics driver always reports success on a mode switch call, leading to the device seemingly being in absolute mode when it isn't.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-drv-synaptics-1.2.1-3.el6

Steps to Reproduce:

0. xinput list "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" | grep Mode
(mode is listed as relative)

1. xinput set-mode "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" ABSOLUTE
2. xinput list "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" | grep Mode
(mode is listed as abolute)

except that the touchpad still works in relative mode.
