This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux major release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Major release. This request is not yet committed for inclusion. Hi Cai, You've set the component to the RHEL6 Installation Guide, but are pointing to sections in the RHEL5 Installation Guide -- which version is this bug for? Cheers Rudi Sorry, should be rhel6 installation guide, http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6-Beta/html/Installation_Guide/chap-Updating_drivers_during_installation_on_Intel_and_AMD_systems.html and http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6-Beta/html/Installation_Guide/sect-Preparing_for_a_driver_update_during_installation-x86.html Martin, can you please confirm that SCSI hard drives should work now as a source for a driver update? cheers Rudi Yes, all drives (except for drives marked as non removable at the moment, but we are lifting that restriction) for which we have drivers in standard kernel should work now and almost all drivers should be updateable now. References to only IDE drives working removed in build 0-72 -- thanks for the catch! :) Verified in: Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-Installation_Guide-6-web-en-US-0-74.el5 http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6-Beta/html/Installation_Guide/sect-Preparing_for_a_driver_update_during_installation-x86.html Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 is now available and should resolve the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of CURRENTRELEASE. You may reopen this bug report if the solution does not work for you. |
