Description Dax Kelson 2010-06-30 04:15:27 UTC
Description of problem:

I have a T61p (256MB nVidia Quadro FX 570M) with an ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock that has a DVI-D connector connected to a Dell 30" 2560x1600 LCD.

When I dock my laptop I don't even open the lid as I have keyboard, mouse, etc hooked up to the dock as well.

The problem is that my Dell 30" LCD never goes to powersave mode. The screen will blank (go black), but it stays powered on, glowing, and putting out the usual crazy amounts of radiant heat. The power LED stays blue, not the usual amber it shows when in powersave mode.

lspci output:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G84M [Quadro FX 570M] (rev a1)

xrandr -q --verbose

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2560 x 1600, maximum 8192 x 8192

Comment 1 Dax Kelson 2011-01-20 21:56:12 UTC
This problem still exists on fully updated F14.

Again, the problem is that my Dell 30" LCD never goes to powersave mode. The screen will blank (go black), but it stays powered on, glowing, and putting out the usual crazy amounts of radiant heat. The power LED stays blue, not the usual
amber it shows when in powersave mode.

I'm more than happy to provide requested debug, etc.

Comment 2 Luigi Pardey 2012-02-05 15:55:57 UTC
Fedora 14 had reached its end of life by the end of last year.
Could you check if the problem persists in the newer versions of Fedora? Otherwise the bug will be closed.

Thanks

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 17:38:10 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
