Description of problem:

Brand new install of RHEL 6 beta 2 x86_64 (Server) in a KVM virtual machine on F13.

When installing a package via "yum install", the installation process aborts near the end with a strange error:

  Aborted
  #

Screenshot attached.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

  rpm-libs-4.8.0-8.el6.x86_64
  rpm-python-4.8.0-8.el6.x86_64
  #

How reproducible:

Wasn't able to be reproduced in the same virtual machine. Seems like a transient error, but may be worth the rpm developers knowing can occur.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. n/a
2.
3.

Actual results:

Installation of acpid was abort prior to completing successfully. Transaction was able to be completed by using yum-complete-transaction.

Expected results:

Thinking this may have been caused by BZ# 609871:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=609071

Comment 4 RHEL Program Management 2010-07-15 14:25:30 UTC
This issue has been proposed when we are only considering blocker
issues in the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. It has
been denied for the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release.

** If you would still like this issue considered for the current
release, ask your support representative to file as a blocker on
your behalf. Otherwise ask that it be considered for the next
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. **

Pretty sure this was caused by BZ #607650, so going to close it.
