If you boot from the cdrom to rescue mode and install lilo, does that work? If
not, what does your partitioning look like?

Comment 2 Mike 2002-03-13 19:49:09 UTC
We did a re-install using lilo instead of grub and everything worked fine.

Comment 3 Jeremy Katz 2002-03-13 21:18:31 UTC
Does grub work better if you use the updated grub package at
http://people.redhat.com/~katzj/grub/ ?

Comment 4 Mike 2002-03-15 16:57:20 UTC
Thanks for the info on the new grub. The server has been taken to the co-lo so
I no longer have access to test the new grub and we will just use lilo.

Comment 5 Jeremy Katz 2002-03-18 19:47:22 UTC
Not much more that I can do, then, unfortunately. There have been a few reports
like this that have been fixed with the newer version, though fwiw. If you get
a chance to test in the future, please feel free to reopen with more information.
