Description Carsten Clasohm 2010-07-06 07:59:04 UTC
Description of problem:

When using the kickstart.profile.software.setSoftwareList API call in Satellite 5.3, I get a Java exception about duplicate values.

How reproducible:

always

Steps to Reproduce:

Create a Kickstart profile with the default software package list, @Base. Write an API script to set the software package list to @Base, screen.

The API call fails with an Internal Server Error, and the attached Java exceptions in /var/log/tomcat/catalina.out.

Actual results:

It's not possible to change the software package list with the API call.

Expected results:

The API call should set the Kickstart profile's package list.

Additional info:

As a workaround, one can first pass an empty list to setSoftwareList, and then call it again with the real package list.

API test script

API test script. Customize the server URL, username, password and kickstart profile label for your local setup. With the latest Satellite updates, I had to run this twice to trigger the error.

I believe this issue has been addressed for Satellite 5.4. Can you upgrade your Satellite and see if the problem goes away for you?

Thank you,

Jan
