Description of problem:
Running up2date -u gives error code 31 - and the support contract 617003 is looking OK

Error Message:
    Service not enabled for system profile: "web"
Error Class Code: 31
Error Class Info: 
     This system does not have a valid entitlement for Red Hat Network.

     or login at https://rhn.redhat.com, and from the "Your RHN" tab,
     select "Subscription Management" to enable RHN service for this system.

According to

what you're experiencing is expected, since RHEL 2.1 has reached its
end of life.

In this case, I'd strongly encourage to upgrade to some supported RHEL
version (and use the entitlement freed by the RHEL 2.1 system).
