Description Šimon Lukašík 2010-07-23 09:59:34 UTC
Description of problem:
I am not sure whether this is problem of client or server part. When registering rhel3 to spacewalk-nightly sometimes we have not Architecture column for packages reported on webui.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Sometimes (I have tried on 2 rhel-ia64-es-3 boxes, it occurs proximately in 15% - 20% of cases)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. register rhel3 to SW-nightly
or
1. register rhel3 to SW-nighlt with --nopackages
2. up2date -p

Actual results:
Architecture column is not available sometimes. "not specified"

Expected results:

Additional info:
 - I am going to do some more testing on rhel[456] to ensure if it occurs only on rhel3.
 - I didn't seen that problem against Sat530

Comment 1 Šimon Lukašík 2010-07-27 10:38:38 UTC
I did some more testing on rhel[456] and this problem seems to be affecting only when registering with rhel3.

RHEL 3 EOL's very soon.

I vote won't fix.

It also happens when registering RHEL3 on Satellite 5.3. I think this should be fixed because Red Hat will sell Extended Life Cycle Support (ELC) for RHEL3 for additional three years.

Another reason to fix it is that the Satellite is sometimes also used as a inventory system.

My two cents...
