Description Zenon Panoussis 2010-07-25 05:08:10 UTC
The text mode installer offers the following partitioning options:

- Use entire drive
- Replace existing linux system
- Use free space

The options "Shrink current system" and "Create custom layout" which are offered in graphics mode, are missing in text mode. Without custom layout most systems can't be installed at all.

Beta-1 20100414.

This issue has been proposed when we are only considering blocker
issues in the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release.

** If you would still like this issue considered for the current
release, ask your support representative to file as a blocker on
your behalf. Otherwise ask that it be considered for the next
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. **

Text mode is deprecated and shouldn't be used unless you have no other choice. It never had very good partitioning support as text mode was never on par with the graphical installer. We will not be adding back anything to text mode that's missing. Please see http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda/Features/NewTextUI for more information.
