Description Xander D Harkness 2002-03-27 09:35:42 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020314

Description of problem:
I try to launch Up2date from the console, Gui or applet and it fails giving the
following error:
[root@lappy root]# up2date
Traceback (innermost last):
  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 16, in ?
    from up2date_client import clap
ImportError: cannot import name clap
[root@lappy root]#

This is on a fresh install only having registered with rhn.

System ID:  1000693132 on RHN.

In addition the applet states that there are approx 100 updates. The RHN
website says there are none.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.register the computer with RHN (which I am happy with as the previous betas
would not.)
2.Enable computer on RHN
3.Attempt to launch up2date

Actual Results:  [root@lappy root]# up2date
Traceback (innermost last):
  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 16, in ?
    from up2date_client import clap
ImportError: cannot import name clap
[root@lappy root]#

Expected Results: up2date console or gui should have launched.

This is fixed in a newer up2date build.
