Additional info:

Looks like Jan already has a patch: http://mx.gw.com/pipermail/file/2010/000588.html So can this be built for F13?

I've just committed that patch to rawhide/F14/F13. I was originally waiting for upstream response to be sure that patch will be accepted, but I've just arranged that off-list.

file-5.04-6.fc13 has been pushed to the Fedora 13 testing repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
 If you want to test the update, you can install it with
