Description Nils Philippsen 2010-08-27 09:35:34 UTC
Summary:

SELinux is preventing /sbin/dmsetup "associate" access .

Detailed Description:

[dmsetup has a permissive type (lvm_t). This access was not denied.]

SELinux denied access requested by dmsetup. It is not expected that this access
is required by dmsetup and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is
also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is
causing it to require additional access.

Allowing Access:

You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ
(http://docs.fedoraproject.org/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug
report.

allow lvm_t unconfined_t:sem associate;

Comment 1 Nils Philippsen 2010-08-27 09:38:29 UTC
When this happened, I was unlocking an encrypted LV:

cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/<VG>/<encrypted LV> <unlocked mapper name>

Comment 2 Daniel Walsh 2010-08-27 15:22:08 UTC
Thanks, I switched lvm_t to a permissive domain, normally unconfined. So this access was actually allows.
