Recent releases of vala contain many bug fixes and improvements. It would be great to see this new release pushed into Fedora 13.

vala-0.9.8-1.fc13 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 13.

vala-0.9.8-1.fc13 has been pushed to the Fedora 13 testing repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
 If you want to test the update, you can install it with

Fedora 13 will stay with the old Vala ABI; update to Fedora 14 to get libvala-0.10.so.0
