Please mark this as a bug for FC13 as well. One PC that uses ghostscript and ghostscript cups fails to print ---> Package ghostscript.i686 0:8.71-15.fc13 set to be updated ---> Package ghostscript-cups.i686 0:8.71-15.fc13 set to be updated Once these are in it just refuses to print. yum downgrade back to: ghostscript.i686 8.71-10.fc13 @updates ghostscript-cups.i686 8.71-10.fc13 @updates And away it runs happily. Confirmed on Fedora Rawhide $ rpm -qa ghostscript\* ghostscript-cups-8.71-15.fc15.x86_64 ghostscript-fonts-5.50-23.fc12.noarch ghostscript-8.71-15.fc15.x86_64 The logs show the following: ==> /var/log/cups/access_log <== localhost - - [10/Sep/2010:22:55:31 +0200] "POST /printers/myprintername HTTP/1.1" 200 349 Create-Job successful-ok localhost - - [10/Sep/2010:22:55:31 +0200] "POST /printers/myprintername HTTP/1.1" 200 239 Send-Document successful-ok I didn't manage to downgrade on Rawhide. Additional info for this. In the debug CUPS error_log, I see: D [11/Sep/2010:06:35:26 +1000] [Job 38] Fontmap entry for Fontmap.local ends prematurely! Giving up. D [11/Sep/2010:06:35:26 +1000] [Job 38] renderer exited with status 1 D [11/Sep/2010:06:35:26 +1000] [Job 38] Possible error on renderer command line or PostScript error. Check options.STATE: +connecting-to-device I'm not 100% sure what Fontmap it is checking - as /etc/ghostscript/8.71/Fontmap.local is a 0 byte file under both F13 & F14. There is a file /usr/share/ghostscript/8.71/Resource/Init/Fontmap/Fontmap.Fontmap.local - I'm not sure if this should have this filename or just be called Fontmap.local. Can someone check this on a F13 system that works? Oh, and this should be added to F14Blocker - as it seems ghostscript is completely broken in the currently available packages. # gs GPL Ghostscript 8.71 (2010-02-10) Copyright (C) 2010 Artifex Software, Inc. All rights reserved. This software comes with NO WARRANTY: see the file PUBLIC for details. Fontmap entry for Fontmap.local ends prematurely! Giving up. # This problem affects too to Fedora 12. [maximi89@gateway ~]$ rpm -qa ghostscript\* ghostscript-fonts-5.50-23.fc12.noarch ghostscript-cups-8.71-15.fc12.i686 ghostscript-8.71-15.fc12.i686 And if we change in the CLI gs by gs -dNOFONTMAP it works correctly, so this is just a font problem?... [maximi89@gateway ~]$ gs -dNOFONTMAP GPL Ghostscript 8.71 (2010-02-10) Copyright (C) 2010 Artifex Software, Inc. All rights reserved. This software comes with NO WARRANTY: see the file PUBLIC for details. GS> Probably this bug are relationed... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=610301 The Ghostscript package of Fedora it's a copy of Ghostsscript release or it have differences than the official release? IS anyone going to fix this? This is still the latest build in koji nothing since 3rd September. Also why is this not pulled from updates-testing, its got -3 and its clearly broken. Hi guys, my problem was solved... in my case was a problem related with the printer firmware load... doing a reinstall of foo2xqx and hotplug from http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/ my problem was solved... anyway, the post is here, http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/forum/read.php?42,2730 Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 610301 *** |
