Description Need Real Name 2002-04-10 22:00:48 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311

Description of problem:
the python2 package requires Mesa (among other things) which in turn requires
XFree86. call me silly but this just seems wrong when I just want to use python2
on headless server box locked in a closet.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. rpm -ivh python2-2.<whatever>.rpm on a machine with no Mesa and no XFree86
packages.

Actual Results: Failed dependencies - libraries provided by Mesa are required
which in turn require libraries provided by XFree86

Expected Results: python2 should install without requiring X
